Else I spent my time producing new music, so stay tuned!
2 years recap
10000 Likes on Facebook! WoW! When I started two years ago, I couldn't have imagined that I come this far and reach so many people - especially from South America - with my music! At this point, I want to thank all my fans who followed my musical journey: Thank you!
In this time, I played around 30 official gigs and 150 days busking on the street. I've earned two new guitars, one new bass and a completely new music production set up with which I'm eagerly producing my next album! Much more important, I met so many musicians and artists out there and visited new places, so that I can look back now on a much more well-grounded and life-enhancing experience: I no more feel like missing something and broke the fog of showbiz for me. I enjoy composing and the music itself more than ever, but classical "fame" of TV and mainstream media airtime plays no big importance anymore for me.
At this point, I want to thank all musicians who made it possible to play Newspeak as a rock band in the last two years: Marco Kazmierczak and Nils Schildhauer on bass, Andreas Kuckertz and Oussama Hajji on lead guitar, and Philipp Eiserfey and Lisa-Marie Bruynen on drums.
Moreover, I want to thank Tim Eschmann and Wolfgang Feder who pushed me doing Newspeak by their Feedback. Without them, I probably wouldn't have finished it, thank you!
And I want to thank z.eu.s - zukunft euskirchen stadtmarketing e. V. and Jürgen Hofmann, who made my first paid gigs possible at beautiful locations.
The future is bright! xo Max

New Review by IndieRock-Cafe
I found today a wonderful review about my album at Indie Rock Cafe. They conclude about my track Alessia Di Castellabate: "With a track this strong, one that could be an indie hit on the right playlist somewhere, Goedecke knows to runs away with it; and somehow combining elements of rock, blues, folk, country and pop into one track." Read the full review here and listen free to the song: https://indierockcafe.com/…/07/new-2018-indie-rock-playlist/
New Review by Divide & Conquer and some live impressions
I played this weekend at the Siegener 1000 Lichter festival and it was a great experience for me. Hope next year again! The indie blog Divide & Conquer has reviewed my album and gave me 3.8 out of 5 points and concludes: "The production and recording quality is top notch on this album.[..]Overall, this is a great debut. If you are a fan of some of the aforementioned genres you should like this." Read the full review here.
New Review from Australia about Newspeak
Just found this today, a review by The Rockpit from Australia. I feel honored by it and would have never expect this to happen. You can read it here:
Review of Newspeak by A&R Factory
The British indie music blog A & R Factory has reviewed my album Newspeak and Amelia Vandergast concludes: "Well, I can honestly say I’ve never heard an album like Max Goedecke’s latest album Newspeak. It has the same haunting euphoric effect as Post Punk bands such as Echo and the Bunny Men with the soaring Classic Rock riffs of the iconic 80’s acts such as Tom Petty, and Neil Young. Yet, the styling is nothing but contemporary. There’s almost infinite diversity written into each of the 10 tracks from his debut album, each of the tracks flows with its own brand of veracity, from punchy Garage Rock to rhythmically Blues Rock.
The Cologne based artist, proved his talent as a multi-instrumentalist on perhaps one of my favourite tracks off the album ‘Meant to Be’ which takes you right back to the 80’s Throughout the album I couldn’t quite get over the slight (amazing) reminiscence between Goendecke’s vocals to Alt Rock artist Jack White which is most obvious in the second track on the album ‘Slowly to Sink’, until he breaks into the more predictable raucously cacophonic Rock vocals." - AMELIA VANDERGAST, A&R Factory, 27th April 2018
Review of Newspeak by Obscure Sound
The famous american music blog Obscure Sound has reviewed my album Newspeak and and ends up with the result "Goedecke [..] emerges as a fierce talent on Newspeak who bridges the divide between nostalgic anthemic rock and contemporary indie-rock charm." Obscure Sound was already featured in the New York Times, The Guardian and The Observer. You can read the full review here.
Newspeak internationally released!

Founded band around my album! 1st Gig!
I’m so happy to announce that I've finally founded a band around my songs! It took me so long to find the right people, but with Lisa-Marie Bruynen on drums and Marco Kazmierczak on bass guitar it was like thunder and lightning had hit the room after the first few chords. We’ll play our first gig on 21st October at Blue Shell in Cologne! You can get tickets in advance for 7 Euro for the show via contacting me. xoxo Max
